How Pitchroom approaches the EU AI Act
Last updated: 14 July 2026
What the EU AI Act is
The EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689) is the European Union's framework for artificial intelligence. It classifies AI systems by risk and sets obligations that scale with that risk, from banned practices at the top to transparency duties for lower-risk systems.
Our role
Pitchroom builds assistive features on top of general-purpose AI models provided by named sub-processors. We act as a deployer of those models: we do not train our own foundation models, and every provider we use is listed publicly on our sub-processors page, with its location and legal transfer basis.
Risk posture
Pitchroom's AI features are assistive. They review decks, summarise documents, answer questions about your data room, score investor fit, research funds, and draft outreach and updates. They do not make decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal or similarly significant effects for you.
AI output is automated, may contain errors, and is not financial, legal, or investment advice. Reports and drafts are presented for your review, never as a decision made on your behalf.
Human in the loop by design
The AI drafts, scores and researches. It never sends, never commits, never decides. Every outbound action, from an outreach email to an investor update, needs your click. Emails sent through the Gmail integration go from your own address, only when you choose to send them.
Your data
We do not use your User Content to train AI models, and our AI sub-processor is contractually prohibited from training on your content. Content you select for an AI feature is processed solely to generate the output you requested.
Where processing happens
Pitchroom's platform infrastructure is EU-hosted: Scaleway in Amsterdam and DigitalOcean in Frankfurt. AI inference is performed by Anthropic in the United States under Standard Contractual Clauses, as listed on our sub-processors page. We keep that page current, so you always know exactly which providers touch your data and where.
